Sofia Rupert has been working with Amy and her team since before Lass Law was founded. Sofia is a proud graduate of Thomas Jefferson Law School, and is eagerly anticipating passing the notoriously difficult California Bar Exam to become an Associate Attorney! Her work reflects her long-standing commitment to family law and her passion for helping clients through some of life’s most challenging transitions.

Sofia’s journey in family law began in the Bay Area, where she worked for her mother, a Certified Family Law Specialist with nearly four decades of experience. There, she learned the importance of empathy, precision, and creative problem-solving while assisting clients in deeply personal matters such as custody, property division, and marital settlement agreements. Before joining Lass Law, she also gained experience at a family law firm in San Diego, further developing her skills in drafting pleadings, preparing clients for hearings, and supporting attorneys in complex litigation.
While earning her degree from California State University, Chico, Sofia served as Program Director for the Women’s Law Project at the Community Legal Information Clinic (CLIC). In that role, she worked closely with survivors of domestic violence, helping them understand their legal rights and connect with local support resources. She partnered with community organizations and organized outreach programs focused on empowering women and promoting access to justice. This experience was deeply formative and solidified Sofia’s commitment to pursuing family law as a way to advocate for those navigating vulnerable and transitional moments in their lives.

At Thomas Jefferson School of Law, Sofia continued to distinguish herself as a leader and advocate. She served as Chair of the Moot Court Honor Society, where she led competition teams, coordinated national tournaments, and mentored fellow students in appellate advocacy. Her experience in Moot Court strengthened her oral advocacy, legal writing, and leadership skills, all of which she brings to her work at Lass Law.
At the firm, Sofia works closely with the Lass Law team on all types of cases, including those headed to mediation, or lengthy discovery responses, and everything in between. She is known for her compassion, attention to detail, and ability to connect with clients on a human level while maintaining professionalism and focus.

Outside of work, Sofia enjoys spending time with her dog, golfing, and catching Padres games in San Diego. When she visits her family in the Bay Area, she never misses the chance to attend a 49ers game. She is proud to call San Diego home and looks forward to continuing her career with Lass Law as an attorney, serving families with dedication and care.
